Raising Readers is a group of experienced school leaders from Victoria who provide small group workshops and consulting sessions designed to equip parents to teach their children essential reading skills in a home environment.
We believe that as their children’s first teachers, it is vital that parents have the skills to support the work of schools in equipping young people with the foundational literacy skills they will need to be successful in all walks of life. A literacy rich home environment is one of the key indicators of a young person’s future academic success.

What We Offer
We provide small group workshops to parents, carers, youth workers or anyone working with young people with reading ages from Year 2 to Year 9. Our workshops draw upon evidence based literacy practices and are designed by expert facilitators. The content will provide you with a foundational knowledge of how children learn to read. Participants will learn how to turn bed time reading into targeted reading conferences that boost engagement with literature and allow parents to carefully teach a range of reading comprehension strategies.
One on one consultations may be available upon request.
